Hello and welcome to my “About Me” page.
I have been practicing as a psychotherapist since 1999 and have developed an expertise in communication skills, empathy and bringing mindful awareness into relationships. I am experienced in providing online therapy using confidential and HIPAA compliant software. I am passionate about helping people understand the logic of their emotions and teaching them how to tolerate these seemingly intolerable feelings. After I obtained my BS from Colgate University, I received my MSW from Catholic University. I studied extensively with the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Washington, DC – focusing on Self Psychology and its application with individuals and couples.
I have been featured on local and international media discussing family and psychological issues and I was a guest therapist on TLC’s “My Strange Addiction.” In addition to providing counseling, I also provide relationship skills classes for dating, engaged and married couples. I am certified to conduct Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD) for companies or agencies who have experienced traumas. I am available for seminars on “Communication Skills,” “Balancing Careers and Marriages” as well as “Stress Management” and “Dealing with Difficult People.” I am also currently writing a book on empathy and communication skills that walks couples through the empowering exercises I utilize with couples in counseling.
If you would like to know more about me and how I can help you either through counseling, classes or seminars, please contact me here.
